Hey guys, been running my car down the drag track quite a bit lately.
2009 Fg xr6, 5 speed auto. Car has: Redback Extractors, High Flow Cat & Cold air intake. Hasn't been tuned yet. Running 98 BP, 40 PSI on 245/35/19. Stock 2.73 Gears (non-LSD) Im managed a 14.2 @98 MPH My times are pretty consistent usually 14.4 - 14.3 @ around 97-98 MPH 60Ft is around 2.2 Seconds cant seem to get it lower. I do get slight wheelspin even with traction on, looking at getting better tyres than my ATR Sport 2's. Keen to get a tune and see if i can get in the 13's Just wondering what times people are running in there n/a xr6's with what mods, and what mods other than a tune will help my drag times?

Turn traction control off, you will go quicker, my manual with mods below picked up, .3 without traction control turned on, it cuts power too much when there is wheelspin......
Underdrives will help too What exhaust do you have? |

Also maybe drop the rear tyre pressures down abit, leave the fronts at a higher pressure.
As i mentioned underdrive pulley kit will help free up some power and help the engine rev out quicker. |

So went back to the drags a couple of weeks ago, tried without traction control, my 60Ft was Alot better but my top end speed was terrible. went 14.266, this is not the fastest iv'e ran but its the best 60ft I've had. Any reasons to why my top end was slower than usual with traction control off? im usually finishing at 98-99MPH.

Stalling it up the max it will take isn't always the fastest way, especially if you sit there too long and start building too much heat. Mine used to only do 2000rpm or a bit over before wheelspinning. When you're trying to max the stall you've also got more brake force to overcome when you let go. Some people stall up on the handbrake but I never had any luck with that.

that's pretty good for a n/a Falcon my BF11 XT ZF auto did 14.8@96mph with my daughter driving it,didn't stall it just took off from idle and left in "D"
lower mph could just be different weather conditions |
