Ok.... Just to let you know....
Went to pick up trailer last night, got every thing hooked up and set off for home... However, soon found out the the lights had failed. After a quick check, found out that the cable appears to have been shortend since I last towed the trailer. The effect of this is that as I took a tight turn out of the drive the cable pulled out, dragged on the floor and broke pins in the connector. I will try and fix this tonight, so that we have a trailer for tomorrow.

Ok, new trailer connector fitted and all electrics tested and working ok....
Confirmation that the cable is too short for my car.. If travelling in straight line or turning right, then all ok. But turning left at T junction, then this pulls the plug out of the connector. I think because I have the square hitch, meaning the toe ball is a little further away from the body. Looking at the cable run underneath, there is no additional slack to pull through, and you can see from the paint on he cable, or lack of, where the cable has been shortened by several inches at some time since I last performed trailer duties. The cable used to be longer, and have hard previous comments that it was too long, well folks , for my car it's now too short - so I can no longer perform trailer duties.... We need other volunteers to tow??
