Well, after heathcote today I'm quite disappointed in my faithful ED... I thought was going to run a low or mid 16, due to my 0-100 times having dropped by 2 seconds to 8 flat. HOWEVER, I am now the owner of a very poor 79mph (with auto it ran 81mph) and 17.1 second timeslip (2.4sec 60ft, 10.9 1/8th) in 35 degree heat. Actually I have around 10 of them. I also have one slip with a trap speed of 91mph, but it was a stuff up in the timing at heathcote...
I will not be modifying my 260,000km motor because by all tests, it's stuffed. 140psi compression, 98rwkw, 79mph trap speed, my car will never be fast unless I put a new motor in, and in an old car thats probably worth barely $3k, it's just not worth it. The ED will be staying slow and I will not spend money on it from now on other than maintainence as it already looks ok... The day wasnt a total loss, my brothers 360,000km VP wagon ran a 15.9 @87mph with no driveline mods at all (origninal motor, non-lsd, T5) other than a self-fabricated exhaust... Jared EDIT: sorry for the meaningless thread, but I'm really annoyed and needed to vent a bit :

its pretty simple really..LPG
I say just leave your car as is and turn it into a cruiser. it costs to much to make a gas car go to fast

It's really sad running worse times than a standard Jeep Wrangler in the other lane is all i can say... The only hope i had of keeping up with anyone was launch and gear changes, both of which I gained ground helping me keep up to the other cars, but mid rev-range (3000rpm) it just went no-where :(
I was going to get my brother to drive to see if it was just my driving, but after seeing him rev out 6000rpm, chirp into 2nd, and then chirp into 3rd leaving twin black lines each time in his VP, I thought better of it :P I have video here of a race between us, and my car looks devastatingly slow... I'll post a link later tonight (worth it to hear my brothers VP!)

mate I ran 17.1 in my EA and i thaught it was a good run, had a few more runs and got it down to 16.4 @83 2.3 60. My motor is down on compression too like around 135 on all cylinders.
I guess at the end of the day who cares if it's slow, it's a mad looking car that is cheap to run. |

My car developed a problem on the way home, not revving over 4000rpm (I could only rev it to 4500 on the 1/4).
A mechanic and I are looking at it now. After numerous tests with weird electronic gizmo's, we think it may be a collapsed cat... Will also be trying a new (different type) mixer tomorrow since we are working on it already ;)
