Thanks to Wikipedia for the following info.

Nu Metal (poor definition): "is a musical genre that has origins in the mid 1990s. It typically fuses influences from the grunge[1] and alternative metal of the early 1990s with hip hop, electronic music and other metal genres, most often thrash metal and groove metal.[2]...."

(Basically "metal" that is aimed more at the mainstream market)

Indie: "The term indie is short for "independent" and refers to artistic creations outside the commercial mainstream, without the support of a major record label, major movie studio, or other source of a large budget...."

"characterised by perceived independence from commercial pop music and mainstream culture and an autonomous, do-it-yourself (DIY) approach"

Progressive Rock ..... played by real musicians that know more than 3 chords, know more than 1 time signature and can write and play extensions to a piece of music. Other musicians look up in wonder to the guys who can play Progressive Rock and hope that one day they might be that good.

But it is not on your list? Why?

Looked for old polls which were still open. Many of the newer AFF members probably never voted. Still a relevant question after all these years.
