If it's made by an Australian it would be just a dried out stringy horror.
I would never buy a Kebab from an Aussie run shop again. Arabs make the best kebabs. It's a potato scallop for me, but a lot of idiots don't know how to make or cook them the correct way. What is called potato cake is just a shocking taste less mash that southerners came up with and there rubbish fish like shark etc. sausage = snag. pork sausage = banger. |

Now if you get anything that's remotely like a Milk Bar, all you smell is coffee and soap powder. And the doors used to squeak so the owner could run out from watching A Country Practice so you couldn't pinch a box of Redskins. |

Took them months to tell me what a "rubber" meant! Sick minded state!

When I was at primary school, the canteen was called the tuck shop and it was run by "the tuck shop lady", who we all knew cos she was someone's mum. Water fountains were called bubblers, a tap was for connecting the hose to and there was usually with a sprinkler on the end of the hose!

No, Its an apple cake ! Nothing like tea cake with apple in it.
Yeah spot on, Ford_The_Win that's them. Beechworth Bakery call them "Granny Smiths". Murchison Bakery are the best ones I've ever had.

Is it true that you can't buy a pasty in Vic and NSW?
South Aussies, who remembers getting a slice of Fritz when visiting the butcher with Mum?☺

Well for the uneducated (ie those north of the Vic NSW border) a scallop is a shellfish whereas what you call a scallop is actually a slice of dried out potato cooked in a doughy excuse for batter
