Default ridiculously priced e -series parts

I am going to start looking for another coolant reservoir bottle for one of my ELs as it has been Brown and dirty since before I gof it , and out of curiosity I wondered if Ford still sold them. Turns out they do, but it was 500 dollar's. Yes five hundred dollars, couldn't believe it!
Got me wondering if there are any other ridiculously priced parts that for still sell for e-series

This is from John Andrew Ford, which is probably one of the biggest Ford dealers in Nz. Definitely wasn't being had and got my father to ring up to check, as he runs a workshop and buys parts from there all the timr

$500 for a coolant reservoir lol
I think gates or some other mob do them for abut 40-50 bucks now.
Its a hell of alot cheaper to buy a complete car and rape it for parts.

Not for EA-ED that I have seen, and all the Ford wreckers local to me plus all the backyarders wrecking Falcons and Fairlanes don't have any.

Yeah in NZ the Ford wreckers sell front indicators for EF/EL XRs for 200-300 a light. But if your lucky enough to find an XR at pick a part you could get the pair of them for 15 bucks

Replaced the leaking "o"ring on the rear of the water pump. XH 6. Wanted to prepare myself as to what the metal heater pipe was gonna cost if it was badly corroded - $177 from Ford and they didn't have many left.

Cheers!

Buy a Aluminium PWR (or equivalent) header tank. $300. (give or take) Looks good, doesnt yellow, and will never have the plastic bottle failure that (especially ebay cheapies) are all too common!

Wow, old thread!

Sadly new ones don't stay clear for long. Aluminium is the way to go.

I must admit, I've got both new genuine ones for the EL and the AU...but I'll seriously be considering the aftermarket ones for next time...they're cheap and still look the goods. Same deal with the washer bottles.
