To my knowledge they never made a XR6 XH Panelvan?..I found this on Gumtree http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/chipp...ord/1109067285
I would assume if they did, it would have Bucket seats,TBar auto etc etc..I think this is a made up job.Any thoughts? Cheers, Baz |

Looks like GLI interior. Could just be a nose cone and side skirts

rbm..I'd say it's made up from ute parts..they've done the instrument cluster and steering wheel and like you said, nose cone and side skirts.Bit cheeky in my opinion to advertise as such and has already had one offer?.

No more misleading than many other headings, prolly just trying to tap in to those interested in xr6 wagons or any xr6. At 2500 its not like he is asking 10k for it being an XR6.

It may have been a dealer-created thing to help shift panel vans, since the body shape ended with the XH series. The current owner may simply not know that there was no such official model at the time.

Also he doesn't show the engine - my bet would be just a 4.0ltr!
I would agree with Bazza - it's been made up using ute parts but to advertise it as a genuine XR6 Panel Van is wrong. (But who knows what he was told when he purchased it - he may have been duped and now believes that they actually did make them)

Hello,
It would have a Ticky head, and the red cover. Not that it is hard to swap, but if it does and the engine number matches the plate... Being a Van the bench may be original for 2 passengers. Dealers do change things around to create their " special " Cars. |

at $2500 its cheap anyway, i'd buy it if i didn't have 4 cars, i was looking for a clean pv a few months back but gave up after just seeing junk for $3k+

It's just a bitsa with nothing to do with an XR6 apart from the fact someone bung on an XR6 nosecone, steering wheel, and slapped an XR6 badge on the wrong spot.
That horrible bodykit is aftermarket, and those wheels!? Major fail. Body does look pretty straight though. I'd be surprised if it hasn't had some work done that's hiding some nasty surprises but it would be worth a look if you're just after a straight rust free body. |
