Hi guys and gals, I have a 2007 focus in my possession courtesy of my mum who destroyed the clutch out front of my house, literally no clutch plate left. I'm trying to get it back on the road for her.
It seems that replacing clutches got extremely expensive in the last few years as I'm being quoted $3k from 2 different mechanics to do this. I realize there is the added cost of the dual mass flywheel but $3k seems insane. I'm being told the clutch kit and DMF cost $2300 !!! Is this the going rate for these cars ? Or am I better off getting the kit from the usa, which seems possible for $700 landed for an exedy clutch+DMF. Sorry for the first post begging but I'm getting desperate. |

No that's about right. Be careful getting from the States as their models did differ in various ways from the Euro built models elsewhere.

Yeah I would have a crack myself but getting it uo my steep driveway was going to be a challenge in itself. I really wanted to do it. Ended up finding a mech to do it for 2300 so I decided to just get it done.
