People make a big deal about all this stuff but it's bugger all, as the emissions are bloody good truth be told it's just they are so stringent nowadays to comply with such.
People running cars on 91 octane in cars made from 2010 could be polluting way more than they should be in fact. Sure it says you can run 91 octane but it should be running on 95 octane for it to perform correctly at it's optimum. If an engine has to retard the spark timing map, fuel is just being wasted and the emissions will be higher. Australia was to of got rid of 91 octane back in 2010 or so I believe as ALP Gillard Gov put an holt to that if I remember correctly. I remember that Holden's last 5.0L V8's were designed to run 95 octane in 1997 but they coped a back lash because of it and Holden came out and just said 91 is fine, but the fact is the bloody engines spark timing was compromised if you ran 91 it was ok on cold days taking it easy but on a hot day or if you drove it hard the bloody engine would retard the spark timing that much that you lost a hell of a lot of performance and all that wasted fuel is maybe being burned in the cat but the latest new Emission laws goes beyond just that point. |

With the Evo gone the Mitsubishi range is pathetic really. All complete rubbish cars.

At least Mitsubishi found the problem themselves internally and made it public. Kudos to them. VW tried to fool everyone.

But, they have built Cars and 4 x's that win rallies. I had a TD Triton, it was great. Work Car, but it ticked most of the boxes for me. Only problem was a " surge " noise it made. Always thought the last of the Magnas were solid, good cars (and 380 from what workmates said, and spent their cash on). The Lancer seems to get a good write up for reliability as well. Pajero like a Cruiser, but with more flimsy feeling new.
Just never get the short straw and get to sit on the back seat in a Triton for a long trip...

Hello,
The Triton had the largest back seat area, or at least used to in its class. Havnt tried newer stuff to compare, but you could fit adults in comfort without having to move the front seats forward in the one I had. |
