Default finaly back into the 14's

was out at willowbank tonight and finaly cracked a 14.9,i was begining to think i'd never see a 14 again .i had 3 runs
60ty et mph
2.358 15.315 87.92 missed 4th gear
2.190 15.113 92.29
2.118 14.910 92.1

i advanced the cam 4 degrees and it seemed to work ,the car feels slower to drive ,but its getting the numbers at the track.last time iwas out there i got a 15.2 @ 91.8 with a 2.15 60 ty and this was with the cam retarded 2 degrees .i'm starting to get bit like useless fiddling around with cam every second weekend.

Good work mate, finally got the 14's again..

14.9 at 92mph seems to be the trend at the moment lol :P your the 3rd including myself with the same figures..
congrats dude, hopefully it only gets faster for ya..
lol getting like useless, hopefully the motor hangs together ;) hahah jk..

on my mates eb, with vernier camgear, we advanced it 3 degrees and seat of the pants and stop-watch time the thing picked up so much more it wasnt funny.. so advancing it by 4 degrees looks like its done the same.. good work!

Thats a pretty decent improvement, and nice 60's on your 14.9 run. It's got to be nice to know its still a 14second car

What was the weather like up there last night?

Those 60' are good well apatrt from the first one. I had exactly the same phobia with my cam too and played around with it for ages but best performance was with it more adavanced than feels right but best dyno day number was with it retarded up. Goes to show about dyno's and peak readings in shootout mode. My cam is now bolted up at 0.035" lift ATDC and its good. not quite 14.9 good but thats autos for you.

yeah hopefylly it'l keep getting quicker as the weather starts to cool down.
last night it was a bit cooler AT 24deg TT 29deg ,i would have stuck around a bit longer and had a couple more runs but i had my boys with me and they were startin to get tired.they loved it though they had the jet cars out there again last night, man there somethin to watch.
i might have one more crack at the cam timing and see how it goes, i'l try it @ 2 deg advanced ,it seem to wind a bit slower in 3rd with it @ 4 deg .if theres a tenth to be had i'l find it .

Good stuff mate. This is good news.. I always believe that things can be improved with a persistent attitude.
Its just that we beleive that most workshops have the perfect remedy for everything and they cant compare to getting it spot on yourself.
