Hi
I noticed tonight that with my headlights on my right blinker stayed solidly lit and didnt flash at all, was solid on the dash to. But once the headlights were off it worked perfectly fine. I also noticed that when the car locked and unlocked as the blinkers flashed so did the parker globes flashed also along with the tail and number plate lights. Is a AU Series 2 sedan. Any suggestions? |

hi
thanks for the reply. I riggled a wire behind the right headlight and it seemed to fix it momenterily. Would a earth or grounding problem cause this? |

Yes. Possibly, but still check your trailer plug wiring. If any thing goes wrong like this always check anything fitted after it was built, even if it was dealer fitted

You have a short between the indicator and the park lights. When your park lights are on, its supplying constant power to the indicator light - therefore why it no longer blinks, and stays constantly on. Your park lights are on the same circuit as your dash lights and number plate lights - so when you open / close the door to activate the indicators - these lights also light up. Most common spot is in the rear light holders. Completely disconnect each tail light assembly seperatly and see if the problem goes away. If it does then you know what side is causing the problem. If all this fails, then we can move to the front of the car. Let me know how you go. Hope this helps.

Hi. I'm more inclined to think its an earth problem, with the lights off the blinker is earthing through the lower wattage globes which will make them light up and with the lights on power is feeding back from the earth wire into the blinker circuit but the 5 watt park globe earthing through the blinkers isn't enough to make them shine but it will upset the flasher can. Cheers MD
