Ford is donating the first publicly available version of the highly anticipated Falcon XR8 Sprint – one of the most powerful and high-tech Falcon’s ever – to fund local innovation for the JDRF Artificial Pancreas Project, which is exploring how to automate insulin pumps and deliver improved therapies and ultimately a ‘technological cure’ for type 1 diabetes (T1D).
The auction of the vehicle will run from May 7 through midnight on May 31, 2016. The specific vehicle will be a six-speed manual in ‘Winter White’ colour. To learn more about the Falcon XR8 Sprint online auction, visit https://galabid.com/auction/ford/item/77411. Proceeds raised by the auction will support JDRF’s innovative Artificial Pancreas Program aimed to decrease the burden of T1D. Falcon Sprint Series development and innovation Ford’s Asia-Pacific Product Development team based in Melbourne developed the limited-edition, high-performance XR6 Sprint and XR8 Sprint series sedans. The vehicles sold out in a matter of weeks after being revealed. The vehicles feature significant suspension improvements and high-performance tyres to match the vehicles’ dynamic capability. |

Well done Ford.
I guess that is the first of the special numbers that Ford wasn't going to sell. Dose that make it three more to go or four? |

Hi Ford PR,
The Details are a little vague. Is this a brand new car? or has it been used for publicity duties? George |

As a type 1 diabetic I can only say thankyou to Ford for doing something like this to potentially help ease the burden or even find a cure for this disease that becomes the first consideration in every circumstance in the daily lives of suffers.

Now Ford Australia should kindly donate the tooling for FG Falcon to Argentina, so we can have still have FG falcon parts and panels for another 40 years. It should be a crime for the tooling to be destroyed.
