Default Defensive Driving Videos - 1973 Memory Lane, NFSA

Time to put on your rose-tinted glasses.
I managed to stumble across these old videos on YouTube on Defensive Driving by the Department of Transport and archived by the NFSA.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUnd...5DFEAE0846AD73

Being aware of surroundings, other people will announce one thing but will actually do something else.

If you kept too close to the vehicle in front where they needed to hit the breakes and you were in the same lane...

Reaction time and stopping distance can only do so much...

The freeway is no place for family squabbles but maybe more for wearing oversized sunglasses.

These videos are great for new and experienced drivers alike with the bonus of reminiscing the 70's. My eyes need adjustment from that contrast too.
I participated in something similar when I was on my Provisional Licence:

The guy with the big hair driving the white MGB stood out too.

Maybe the Victorian TAC should show these videos to encourage safer driving, instead of advertising cars with automatic braking systems which it currently does, which basically accepts distracted and incompetent drivers.

These are fantastic, thanks fps_grandma. Really takes you back to the core of driving and how accidents happen when you're simply just driving!
