Ford consistently made the e-series stronger and stiffer as they went on, so that would have added a fair bit of weight. (For example, stronger intrusion beams etc.)

depends on what modle of car you have. Fairymonts and Ghias(pn. Gayers) Weigh a bucket load more than Gli's etc.
A EL Fairmont is similar weight to a Gli Wagon, which shows the weight of carpet etc.

Put mine on the weigh bridge the other day. Two people, half tank of fuel. Came in at 1720kg. My mate & I maybe added about 180kgs though, so whats that? About 1540kgs for a 5.0L.

Ford quote 1591Kg for an EF XR8, thats with all fluids filled to capacity.
Fairmont 6 = 1594Kg Fairmont V8 = 1618Kg F/Ghia 6 = 1600Kg F/Ghia V8 = 1624Kg GLi 6 = 1536Kg GLi V8 = 1572Kg I guess the reason GLi V8's gain a lot of weight over the GLi 6's is that GLi 6's are manual as standard, and manual was unavailable on all V8's except XR8.

EA GL '6' = 1418 -> 1484kg depending on options
ie 3.9 CFi, manual, no AC = 1418kg EA Fairmont '6' auto = 1481kg -> 1509kg depending on options EA ghia '6' auto = 1509 -> 1534kg depending on options so we can see an EF is around 100kg heavier than an EA and these r not bullИИИИ guesses or "super accurate" weighbridge results, theyre from FORD!! |
