Default Liddiard Wheel - Interesting Invention

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/ca...-move-sideways

A Canadian man has invented a wheel that can make cars move sideways.

Not much tread on those tyres though; I was thinking my car would go sideways too with tread like that (most likely despite my intentions).f

Makes you wonder why no auto manufacturer has ever made a vehicle which allows all four wheels to turn a complete 90 degrees allowing it to move sideways?

Just think what he could have achieved if he put his money, brains, and effort into something with an actual application...

Its a brilliant, innovative, original idea. Completely and utterly pointless, but still brilliant.

You lack vision.

Tanks, earthmoving equipment, etc. Plenty of applications.

Wouldnt fly here. Pretty sure making your car go sideways is a hoon offence. Would get crushed the first day of owning it in WA.

Very cool concept though!! Would have its place for sure.
