The ISC motor may not be working smoothly, perhaps because the lubrication inside has hardened or worn away. Has anyone taken one apart? Or know if the motor has a commutator.
I lifted the rubber sealing cap on the top and gave it a good dose of RP7 so some would find its way down the shaft and then resealed it. On the next trip there was no sign of any problems and seemed to start easier and idle better. Imagination? |

Does this happen?
Just to make fault finding more difficult. If there is an intermittent fault then the computer would change the settings to try to compensate. Then when the part was working correctly the problem would still appear, but the part would check OK. There is a small free program which checks spelling as the words are typed and sounds a warning and the correct spelling can be opened with shortcut keys. The replace does not seem to work but because the spelling is shown it can be changed. Works on this forum. http://www.megspace.com/computers/tinyspell/ |

Internet information indicates that the ISC motor is a stepper motor which should be very reliable.
This site has lots of information but is not easy to follow. http://www.users.bigpond.com/jack_st..._repair_1.html |
