Hi there
Anyone know what the black flared thing on top of front wheels is for - they poke out about 5mm - seen them on s3 xr8 and ts50 They don't quite look like they should be there |

styling and stop water spray up onto the quarter maybe, those models have them, no idea why.

They are not on the s3 xr6 - same wheel size as the 8 |

Sportsmans have them too. I think they cut or deflect wheel arch spray with the larger diameter/width tyres.

Raptor nailed on the head, Ford had to meet the Australian standards. Also the Ed sprints had the same flare for their front guards, as the wheel width was a little wider than the XR's and had to meet the Australian standards.
