You sound like you might be the same 'vintage' as Me, Bolly. I worked in the electronics industry in the late 60s & early 70s & it was 99.9% Australian & was amongst the best technology in the world in its day. But then, like now, Australian wages & other on-costs killed it. The Japanese made product had undercut ours, not because it was better, but because it was much cheaper. By the late 70s our industry had all but disappeared.

Young guys today find it hard to believe that all our cars back then had car radios & speakers that were made in Aust., just like our TVs & radios at home.

Are you sure about this. I'm not disputing what you say, it's just that I've never seen this documented anywhere.

The Windsor engine & parts don't get a mention anywhere in the XA parts manuals or any other paperwork that I can find. Do you have anything on this ?

My understanding on this is that the Cleveland style 302 was fitted to XA from Day 1 & even though it was an Australian 'invention' it was built here using imported (351) Cleveland blocks with local cranks & pistons, until the Australian cast blocks came on stream.
