G'day just wanted to know whether my Focus diesel had a timing belt or chain. Having trouble getting a straight answer from google etc. I appreciate any help cheers

Technically both! On the DW10 engine, the exhaust cam is driven by the main timing belt, and then inlet cam is driven by a short timing chain between the inlet and exhaust cam sprockets.

Haha interesting... any idea if this belt needs replacing at any interval? Cheers

I'm not too sure on the service intervals on these diesel engines. Perhaps someone else here will know, if its not listed in your service manual.

Peugeot say 180000 Ford I think at 200 or 240000 did my lt focus tdci st 180000 to be safe including water pump and tendioners.
