Hi all.
I am going to start servicing my WT 1.6 petrol myself and unlike all the cars I have owned in the past this one comes with a rubber type oil plug gasket. Unlike the old copper ones I am used to I am worried ill over tighten it and split it so anyone know the correct torque on the oil drain plug? I have a small torque wrench so might as well do it right Also I am going to switch to Penrite HPR5 5w40 oil because I don't like the castrol oil Ford dealers use so anyone else use this in there fiesta? Last thing is what is the best spark plugs to use and part numbers if you know them. I used platinums in my old car and 10 years latter they are still like new so I think ill go down the same path with this car unless people have had issues with other types of plugs. Thanks for any advice. |

thanks for the replys. 27nm almost sounds too much for a rubber o-ring type oil plug washer but I guess they make them out of material that wont split like a normal rubber one would.
Anyone use ryco filters? I could not get a genuine one the other day and after seeing it's made in china I am thinking ill keep it for a spare and find a genuine one. Do the genuine oil filter have a anti drain back valve? I was thinking they don't and I don't like the idea using something different. Funny how I service my old car for 18 years but now im worrying about doing this one lol. |
