sand them with 1200wet/dry sandpaper.
make sure to have plenty of water....otherwise you'll scratch em to badly..

use a buffing machine with some paint polish (propper paint cutters)
then use a light polish ie maguiars scratch x with the buffer,

they should be as clear as new....

If they have gone yellow like mine did, it was on the outside of the light. I rubbed them back a bit with 2000 grit sandpaper, then using 2pack cutting compound and a foam pad on the 9 inch grinder, i got onto it with that, taking back the roughness and fine scratches, then finally i polished them with some car polish. Brought them up brand new! As for the frosted look, i think this happens on the inside of the light and as far as i know the lens cant be seperated. U can pick up brandnew lights from M.A.W. They get Glass EL headlight made in tiwan for 130$ a light. worth looking into.

REALLY!?!?!?!?

Holy crap!!! That is some tough looking plastic! I always thought they were glass.... hmm...

Anyway, thanks for the tips guys, I was meaning to post the same question. About how long should it take? A mate reckons he put about 4 hours into sanding his back :S

Awesome news! I don't think that he polished them. I think he just sanded them. Said he spent around 2 hours a light. Glad I checked this before I started...

I'm pretty sure wet and dry is about $1 a sheet from supercheap. Is it worth trying to get cheap?

How much would it cost to repair a stonechip in a light? At the moment my left light is patched up with aryldyte (spelling?)

I'd just buy a new one, for the effort of getting it fixed. An EA headlight isn't worth a whole lot. I would have given you one 2 weeks ago when I gave 4 of them away.

It's actually been like that for a few years now! The nuisance is that I bought new lights back in 2002 after I pranged the car. Less than a month later, it's been chipped!

not really. just modified the reflector itself to have the adjusters off the fairlane reflector, and it used the same loom, low beam pretty much plugged into the HID balast ( i had to add the balast plug) and the high beam simply plugged into the high beam globe / earth point.

i then made the black surround out of a BMW headlight insert, attached it to the reflector and it all fitted inside the NC headlight housing / lens

while this does work, you get better results if you sand the sundamaged layer off first before polishing...
