I would love to get my hands on a Ford Laser TX3 Turbo, one of the AWD ones but they're rare as now.

Or even a JZA70/MKIII Toyota Supra but the import with the 1JZ engine.

1980s is the oldest cars I'll go, mostly late 80s but I wouldn't mind an XE ESP out of the local stuff, I love the two tone color scheme.

I do have a 1981 F100 but I'm not really too much into old school, she's a bit basic.

NICE!

My daily is a 1981 Trader, has a mere 360 000km's on it. Should I be expecting strangers to pull me over and offer me silly money to take it off my hands!?

Yes, have you seen the price of a good Ford Trader / Mazda T lately ?
I own 4, well 4 1/2. The one pictured just ticked over 200 000k's, Good truck, box frame rails
(not [ channel) like Toyota's, Isuzu's, Dutros etc.

There is a red one sitting in a wrecker up here, about 7km from the QLD border along the Newell Highway. Looks complete.

Drove past a few times and was thinking about it, as I nearly bought one new back in the day but pulled out last minute due to the high price at the time.

Will go past tomorrow (if I get a chance, if not next week some time) and see if it's still there. The guy that runs the place is a hoarder, and it's almost impossible to buy stuff off him, but he knows me well.

Might hit him up for a price, and grab some photos if it's still there.

Not really the sort of car you buy off the side of the road. I hoped he advertised online.
Also I wouldn't expect a quick sale with an 8 series. Most people don't know much about them.

XE ESP Ghia with 351 is my dream. Or a plain XE GL with some work.

That looks surprisingly good. Always thought old bmw's were like yesterday's birthday cake and aged rapidly and looked outdated in a very short time.

I remember when these were first released and I thought - that's the BMW ugly duckling, but now I reckon it was one of their best...

Have one in a heartbeat...

RS2000, Sigma GSR, Laser TX 3 Turbo AWD would be some other interesting 80's cars when getting away from the V8's
