Default Mondeo no more!

Last week I traded in the 2012 MC Zetec EcoBoost, after nearly five years of mainly trouble free and enjoyable motoring.

68,000km in it and the only real issue was an intermittent fault in the main fuel pump, just after the warranty expired and at 47,000km. Ford came to the party and supplied the new pump and contributed to some of the labour, so it wasn't too bad. They also did the major gearbox service at 60,000km as a recall rather than a charged item on the regular service, so no complaints there either. It seems that Ford's customer service is improving.

Tyres has been the biggest concern, the OE Goodyears weren't very good and the Toyo's I tried were great in the wet but didn't last. The Bridgestone's I settled on last year seemed to be a good choice.

The resale on MC Mondeos isn't too flash, but they offered big discounts when I purchased it, so swings and roundabouts and all that.

It's been interesting and informative reading the threads and occasionally putting in my little bit, but don't fret, I'm only moving across to the Escape Forum.

Curious, did they give you a $ number ?
I have 187,000 kms on mine, at a guess I reckon trade in will be $3-$4K given the km's.
nary a problem on mine too.

I was more interested in the bottom line change over price for the new car rather than getting hung up about the trade in valuation. However, I was offered $8K by two dealers which seemed OK to me and was in the middle range of the online valuations I studied, so maybe you could do a little better than the $4K you suggest, depending on the condition, etc.

I saw the Mondeo this morning on Carsales for $13.8K, which I think is a little ambitious. I guess it will sell for around $12K or so
