The new Mustang has 306 kw standard, the Tickford Mustang has 360 kw with an exhaust, cai and tune. why did we need a supercharger to get 345/351 kw?

Because it's much more than they quoted. And the Tickford one doesn't comply with Ford's ADR compliance.
And the Miami was detuned to keep the driveline from blowing up. Not to mention body flex stress cracks that showed up in the intercooled GT-H version. |

Have a look where the torque peak is in the rev range and how broad it is ....usually tells the story

Having both in my garage, the Mustang 5.0 is a completely different beast compared to the Miami. The Mustang need revs to perform as apposed to the Miami which just HAMMERS from idle to red line. I suppose FPV had experienced 8 years of complaints about the 5.4 Boss lacking low rev torque and decided that another N/A engine was only going lead then down the same path. Hence the mighty Miami.

Plus the mustang is lighter.
There's an old issue of Motor magazine at work in the crib hut and it's dated from around the time the 5.0 GT and GS were released. It had an interview with the head guru from Prodrive stating that A) the Falcon is heavier than the Mustang and B) emissions requirements would have made the Coyote more underwhelming in a Falcon than the outgoing 5.4(even though I don't get the hate for the 5.4, I thought my Boss 290 XR8 went great compared to a mates VE SS). So there's your answer.

I believe whatever PCM in the Falcon used wasn't able to run the TiVCT. Wouldn't end up being much better than a 5.4 anchor.
