Pretty sure it would, if not... there are aftermarket type cruise control units that would do the job fine. My mate put one in a 1980's volvo and works fine.

an ebay listing im looking at for a AU2 auto cruise control kit says in big letter "for AU2/3 auto only will not fit AU series 1"
i also wouldnt bother with a aftermarket one, while they do work well they never work as good as factory and would cost more that a S/H genuine kit from a wreckers...

I was looking at putting cruise onto my commodore (as it didn't come from factory and after having it in the AU for nearly 2 years, its a luxury I wish to keep!), what price / difficulty is it to install such a device on a car?
Edit: (Awaits Mr Hardwares rant on how I have chosen power over class :P) |

It doesn't matter what series the cruise came from, they are all inter-changeable.
I just recently fitted cruise from ebay which stated "series 2 and 3 only" in a series 1 ute. Cheers

i can only assume the difference is in the variable intermittent wipers
iirc the AU1's only had speed sensitive intermittent wipers where as the AUII's and III's had speed sensitive and variable intermittent wipers (aka the best)

Has anyone installed a auto cruise control kit in a manual?
i asked a bloke on ebay and he said the wiring looms are different, but im not sure if it just has a extra switch to the clutch pedal or more? i think it would be easy to add a switch from the clutch to the brake switch on a auto loom Cheers Cam

As far as i can tell from wiring diagrams it is only one wire that is different. I'm yet to check whether that wire is in the loom from the cruise module to the dash plug though. If the wire is there, I think another brake switch on the clutch pedel will would work. If the wire is not there then you could piggy back the clutch switch onto the brake switch or go to pick a part, find a car with cruise and take a wire from the loom. Cheers
