Default Weekly Race 4 Real Report: August 16, 2017

Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why!

Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway.

Top Holden of the Week

With an eye-catching lick of factory green paint and that massive hood cowl, this VE SS Commodore Ute looked the absolute business. Those plates were pretty fitting for this Ute if we do say so ourselves as it went like a bat out of hell down the strip.

Top Japanese of the Week

It’s evident that a lot of work has gone into this S15 Silvia to get it where it is today. Rocking a C-West widebody kit, a set of Work Meister SP1 wheels and painted in a custom shade of black, this S15 looked the business to say the least. The SR20 powerplant has also been treated to a substantial bump in power, helping send this Silvia down the quarter-mile with some impressive times, making it the ultimate S-Chassis package.

Top European of the Week

Those custom plates don’t lie! This MKVI Golf R kept it simple with a clean, black-on-white race-inspired theme going on. With its proven turbocharged AWD performance, the Golf R is a hot-hatch and a half and not to mention, an extremely formidable opponent on the quarter-mile.

Top Ford of the Week

Up the mighty Barra! Here at Sydney Dragway, we know exactly how much potential the Falcon XR6 Turbo possesses underneath its bonnet. This FG XR6 Turbo turned up sounding and looking absolutely menacing with its black-on-black look. A quick quarter-mile pass is pretty much a given with these turbocharged beasts, and this one was no different.

Commentator’s Pick of the Week

Everyone loves a well-sorted classic Datsun! It was great seeing this nicely-restored and tastefully modified Datsun 1200 giving its bigger competitors a run for their money. Props to the owner for keeping this beauty in such great condition.

Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information.

Stay tuned for our coverage of the August 23 Race 4 Real event!
