This FG X does not have premium package - no leather, premium sound or 19" wheels. I can do without all three.

Beautiful car mate
I'm on my 5th Falcon. Went from a BF MkII Fairmont Ghia to my FGX G6ET. Boy that was a jump and a half! The FGX is a dream to drive! By far the best Falcon I've owned. I do just shy of 1000km a week, mostly highway cruising, and it hasn't missed a single beat. I've done 35,000km in 9 months or so. Just had the 45,000km service today as it happens. I was close to buying an FG or FG MkII, but the FGX is just so much better. It makes the FG look so very outdated. Interior is clean and modern. While it is lacking a few things that Ford cheaped out on, it is their best effort and it does the job very well. Having the turbo on tap is like a junkie with a fix. You get addicted to it and cannot get enough of that subtle whine 1-100 in 5 seconds is quite impressive for a family car weighing almost 2 tonnes!

Great car, congrats on your purchase. Very interesting the comparison of FG and FGX.

G'day guys . Also congrats on the new rides Scotsman and Syndrome...both look and sound like fantastic chariots of the first order. .
Just one very slight umbrage though re the 'outdated' comments of the FG. No great surprise that they're dated compared to the beaut FGX's but they're still a bloody nice car. Mine (2008 Mk 1 XR6) is a positive joy to drive every single time and as much as I'd love an FGX , my FG will do me happily for a good while yet. Cheers Rod. |

Only took three months for the first ding to happen. Just noticed on my driver's side door a bit of a rub mark. Wiped it off to find a 5cm horizontal crease where somebody has nudged my car. Not ****ing happy.

Reviewed all the dashcam video and am 90% certain that the damage was done when the car was parked at the local shopping center on Saturday morning. It is the only time a car was to the right of my car - it wasn't there when I parked but was there when I departed. The dashcam didn't record any incident log so I do not have any video of my car being hit. But I am 90% certain that this is where it occurred. Also the way I reversed from the carpark means I didn't get a number plate. Bugger.
