Default Talk About Your Cougar/Probe

Ok guys, since this part of the forum doesn't see much usage, I thought I'd start a new thread and try and get some interest in it.

Basically, I think we can just start by talking about our cars, maybe give them a bit of a review and highlight your loves/hates (if there are any) about your car.

I think we could perhaps get a bit of a spotting thread going as well and so on... I've been lucky enough to meet two other Cougar owners in the past few weeks but am yet to see them pop up on the FordForums.com.au .

Ok, I'll get the ball rolling...

--------------------------------------------------------------

I've owned my Cougar for nearly a year (come May 2006) and I must say I am still impressed by this vehicle. My two other cars I don't think had as much impact as this. I find myself confident in her abilities, particularly how well she can handle, however, I am still yet to take her to some sort of proving ground like the Old Pacific Hwy or National Park.

The car has given me virtually no problems in the past year, except for a blown headlight bulb. Other minor issues are things like a stonechipped front and cracked windscreen - but these can rarely be helped.

The exterior appearance remains the same from purchase with the Shadow Chrome 17" Arkanes looking great against the Ebony Black paint. I love the polished lips on the rims, but... they are showing their age thanks to the previous owners gutterage! The simple rear spoiler gives the back a less rounded appearance while the crystal side indicators I believe compliment the 01 headlights.

Inside, I wanted the leather and love it! The heater switch has a habit of popping itself on when the car's been left in the heat, but it will turn off! The steering wheel looks great and the rest of the interior tells me I'm in something unique and special. The only change to the interior I've made was installing a B&M short shifter.

I upgraded the entire audio system in July from what was a great and clear standard tape deck with 6 disc stacker, to a complete ICE system with 10 disc stacker and sub. I have to thank ProfessorSabre for the inspiration from his own system.

I still have more plans for the future of the car. I think the standard ride height really needs to be addressed - and soon. But I don't find myself wanting to go too crazy with changing exterior panels and taking away from the look of the original car. These cars are rare enough as it is, we don't really need to make them even more unique with crazy Veilside bumpers and so on. I'm looking forward to enjoying the car even more in the coming year!

...and hopefully we'll get a few new members too!
