Right I need a definitive answer. What gearbox is in a Ecoboost Mondeo?
I ask because I believed the Ecoboost uses a conventional auto and the TDCI has a DCT. This is why I am asking here: 1. The Ford website says both the Ecoboost and TDCI use a Powershift but when you click for more information it says it uses a dry clutch which is the Focus not the Mondeo. 2. However, the brochure for the Mondeo says the Ecoboost uses Selectshift automatic and the diesel uses Powershift DCT. 3. Heaps of online reviews state the Mondeo only uses the Powershift DCT (which I thought was wrong) but Motoring latest review says auto for Ecoboost and DCT for diese (which I thought was right). 4. Lastly, a new user Dave asked about the gearbox in his Ecoboost and I was going to write don't worry about the clutch as it is petrol but now the first reply basically answers as if it is a DCT. This got me researching via google and I cannot find a definitive answer. I found out even the term selectshift is used on different gearboxes in the Ford family and if you look up selectshift v powershift it comes up it is the same thing. Ford obviously can't get it right on their own website and it contradicts the brochure so what chance has a non car person have. No wonder people are ****ed off. Am I right about the gearbox being a auto or does the Mondeo only use a DCT. Thanks in advance for your help. Brad

The MC EcoBoost and TDCi used a DCT/Powershift. The wet clutch version.
The MD (Current model) EcoBoost uses a conventional 6 speed auto/selectshift. The MD TDCi uses the DCT/Powershift. The wet clutch version.

Legend. Thanks.
It is what I thought and the brochure is right and the website is wrong. Cheers

The MD ecoboost's slushbox is really nice, crisp changes quick changes and man.....the think can roll and roll and roll (when you let off the accelerator). So let off early and roll to the end where possible.
