From my first knowledge of the GT40 in 1966, it has taken me 50 years and retirement to actually get up close and personal with some original examples. Thought maybe others would appreciate a few photos:

Bowdens use to have a real one. While we were having a tour of their museum they started the GT40 for us. Weren't allowed to stand behind it due to the flames the exhaust shot out when it first fired up, and was it loud in a very pleasant way.

Just saw a new book release - on one of the GT Mark II's in the 1966 Le Mans:
