So, as I speculated from an article further up, things did change. Many years ago I knew a young Swiss woman with family still in Switzerland. Her family ran an Inn and a Farm in a mountainous region outside of the nearest town. When her brothers were conscripted they were issued full on H&K "battle rifles" chambered for the heavier, long range 7.62 NATO rounds. After serving, they remained in the reserves and told to take their issued H&Ks home along with an allotment of ammunition and target practice requirements. In fact their father still had his rifle from his active duty time and was also still considered in the reserves.

So these days it is an option and a purchase as to weather someone is taking their weapon home after active duty separation.

Interesting.

Just quoting from people who live in Switzerland and Jews I know say to me.

The ratio is people with a gun, not how many guns, one may have.
I know many who had maybe 30 guns in the 80's half of them were just rubbish that would never be used but just was never tossed out.

One mate at 14yo had 17 rifles with them sitting both sides of his bed and I went to pick one up and he freaked out, that one is loaded and said never to come try sneak through his bedroom window as a joke because he will fire.

We snuck up on a mates house making noises trying to scare him on his own and he stuck out the window a 3025, and we were off like a shot back to our cars and then came in, he said I knew it was you pack of c---s.

But guns were used just to clear people off your land, not to shoot anyone unless you really had to deal with some bastards and that's just too bad for them type of bastards, the only good thief is a dead one.

This all people who live out of town that I am on about, but we only had 2 rifles and 1 pistol when I was a kid at home.

As for the Socialist Communist and Nazis, history proves once they get in total power, the government starts going down the track of killing all who are label an enemy of the State, so if you do not follow the Political Correctness orders and brainwashed to believe them you are shot.

First thing they do is make laws to take the guns off all who are not in the Government, army, police.

I had hours of recordings I got off TV about it all with people who were telling of their experiences with such and even Russian interrogation people who said just how bad it was, they feared for their lives as well because of the leadership if they missed something or did not get information truly correct then they feared what the leadership would do to their family's. such people were so relived it was all over when communism came crashing down. and I know plenty who lived in that crap and I have come across plenty aussies who believe and want communism hear, thing is they are ignorant and stupid as they come and do not understand the reality of the facts how evil it truly is.

Agreed... but keep in mind when a 'shooter' enters a school from now on in the US, they will potentially be facing several armed teachers ready to shoot back.

This presents a 'psychological' deterrent for these kids that I'm willing to bet have had little to no formal training in the use of guns.

It has worked in Israel for the past 4 decades, I don't see why it won't in the States.

Trump is right... arming the teachers will give them the required 'tools' to protect their school, just as the law states they are responsible for the safety and welfare (duty of care) of their students within the school campus.

I also agree with this concept. I also think the implementation needs more than just teaching people to shoot.
