Where do you think electricity required to charge battery cars comes from, also not a pollution free process. |

Fork the greens. Good for nothing. left winged nutjobs. If they love the world so much, they should stop breathing, eating and breeding.

Yes. But let the market take its natural course. When people stop buying petrol/diesel powered cars, electric powered cars will take over.

They are as self entitled, greedy & power hungry as the main parties. Dig a little deeper behind the headlines and look a little closer at some of their members. It is never what it seems. As I turn 49 this year, I doubt there will be any real changes in petrol as we know it for the next 50 years. Technology will continue to increase and maybe batteries will get so powerful that a half petrol half elec option will be a realistic option. But the power is with the oil barons & that ain't going to change easily. Personally, I like the sound of a motor from the moment I turn the key on to when I turn it off. I also think electric cars should have a warning alarm that beeps when a sensor picks up a object in front of it. I am sure I am not the only one who's walked in front of one in a carpark or something similar.

The sooner the Greens are consigned to the political wilderness the better off we will all be.They have absolutely no idea on anything. They are a complete & utter waste of time.I have or never had any respect for their views. The sooner the Australian populous wakes up to them the better.Tassy election result was fantastic.Cheers

If we can keep the Political comments to a more general tone rather than being specific it will save me having to get the editing pen out.

You cannot stop political comments,if the subject pertains to them.Otherwise you will have to terminate the thread.Otherwise let it run.(unless it gets personal or nasty.) Cheers

No we do not have the right to free speech anymore and that's a fact, greens want fossil fuel ban by 2030 and they are not joking, our votes mean nothing much nowadays.

Yes, my local council now has a Greens Mayor - the local motorsport park finally got the go ahead (after being cancelled) after many taxpayer funded studies. Standby for the Batman by-election this Saturday, looks likely the Greens will take it off Labor. |

This. Landlords won't spend a hundred dollars to fix the plumbing, but the Greens think they'll spend 10g on a car charger for all? fat chance.

I think the range on EV vehicles will be addressed in short time. The ability to charge / recharge will not. You’ve only got to look at how town planning in the burbs - even the outer burbs has changed to allow multi level apartment dwellings on previously single house blocks to see what a challenge home charging would be. Our whole city was and still is being planned around the petrol powered car. No public transport infrastructure , just dodgy new roads to service huge new developments that each contain multi dwelling on single block complexes in many cases. Many of those don’t have their own parking space let alone a garage. The only way EV will work is if BP and Shell adopt a Swap n go technology for your car battery like they do for BBQ gas bottles.... So many LOLS..

A candidate from The Greens tried to ambush me outside the voting ballot today.
I laughed in his face as soon as he told me he was from The Greens. It was pure instinct. |

They've lost a lot of Federal support over the years I think . Locally it comes and goes a bit.
