For all the advertising that suggests NBN is good for business, the businesses that will benefit most are likely to be Netflix an some Eastern European porn providers.

Businesses outside of this may need to transfer smaller packets of date, eg. if you go to buy a new rocker cover gasket for your F6, the dealer can get online and see if someone else has one, or submit an order for one, but this is nothing like the rate at which video chews up bandwidth.

And the more bandwidth is provided the higher quality video content will be offered and so it just gets chewed up. Possibly a better way to free up the net to 'make Australian businesses flourish' would be to ban downloads of porn during business hours (govco already has meta data) and limit each household to perhaps 3 hours of netflix per day during business hours....
