Default What’s happening to ford accessory belts

A bit of feedback with motorcraft accessory belt or serpentine, Auxililary as ford calls it so on MA Or MB series mondeo 2009. Just if anyone has had problem with accessory belt shredding I had changed at 71000 and had to replace at 130,000km for somehow it shredded. Service book recommended change at 240000km mark Impossible !! On another vehicle of family had one go on there MB series diesel 2.0. Shredded way before 120000km aprox I not sure but on package there suppose to be made in EU which is somewhere in Europe . Any way it shredded and small bits went through the Alternator. Bearing on pulls seem fine ! So just spent a bit more on a Dayco made in USA so far after 2 months still look like new so hope it last longer . It’s a bit of a let down try support original parts but I not impressed with motorcraft from ford I say there belts proberly made by Bosch or similar so I have no choice try another brand cost around $90 from Burson I not fully shure of price a while ago I got it . So let you know in future how it goes !

Check the belt condition everytime you service (as per any service) and you should be able to monitor the wear and tear/condition of the new Dayco belt.

Sounds like the MotorCraft original is just crap!!!
