Seeing as I’m running 39 deg of advanced timing I was wondering if I could run a mix of av gas and ultimate 98?
I know av gas is against the law to use, I was planning to use it on the track. I also know cat converters get clogged as well from using it, that why I was wondering if I could use a ratio like 50l of bp and 10l of av gas? Any views?: Any one think I'm nuts? :

If it gives you more of an edge over the 8's at Morgan Park :jab: but doesn't hurt your engine :gren: go for it : . I would really have to trust someone that said it would be OK to do that.

Lets just say it will work. Even a 50/50 mix will be fine, and not kill you cats.

Ok Av Gas = Bad idea.
Unless your engine was built for a specific fuel, its not a good idea to use magic mixes. the cons far out weigh the pros. *goes back to the drawing board*

Drew, you did not think 5.4L was useless the last time you drove one of the examples of said capacity. Own up to your 8 cylinder envy, it is ok and no one will think any less of you. $8000 is expensive but the power is worth it, question is, can you handle it?

If you have programmable engine management and larger injectors you could just mix petrol with ethanol, its high octane, brings oxygen with it and cleans your motor for you at the same time, just don't run more than say 25-30% or it'll start attracting water like nothing else.
