This is the NT rego costs, note that charges here are per engine size not like QLD.

I don’t understand why we pay for rego anyway (other than it being a revenue stream for the government).
CTP, sure. But the actual registration fee doesn’t cost a few hundred dollars for some one to push 8 or 10 buttons to change the date on your rego. And the “Traffic improvement fee”. Well that’s crap, no traffic has improved with this fee in the entire time its been charged. At least not here In QLD. When I first registered my car in 2005. It was $694 for my V8. It is $1054 IIRC. I’m guessing that it will be nuging 1100 now. By my calcualtions that’s more than 3-4% per year. Awesome.
