how the hell do you get the oil pan off a 3.9L ea without removing the motor from the car?

ИИИИ job need to drop the whole front subframe with struts and have a cross bar holding the motor up. very messy.

Do you really need to remove the sump.... If you want to remove the sump casget because of an oil leak maybe the BOLTS are loose just retighten it.......It happen to mine to....... JUST A THOUGHT........

while retightening the bolts can provide a temparary stop eventualy the gasket will need to be replaced,,,taking the engine out is the easiest but not cheapest,,unless you can do it yourself way to do it..
or get another engine,,thats what i'm doing,,im replaceing the 3.9 with a 4l form an eb,,i'll be getting all the gasket replaced before it goes in,,,

I got the engine pulled when mine was done. Had to do an oil pump/pickup. Did the rest of the main seals while i was at it.. Timing cover, rear main, balancer, sump all the crap.

dropping kframe is easier then pulling engine out.
i've done my car before, still need an engine crane though.

thanks for the advice guys, got ahold of a engine lifter today and I'm pulling the motor out tomorrow. What a stupid design! I'll let you know how it goes.
