Whether you pay someone a yearly salary or a wage for actual hours worked, would it make any difference with the payment frequency whether it it daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or even once a year?

ok we could make it worse !!!
can we really say that a winter solstice day is really a day , seeing the sun is only up half the time of a summers day should we only be counting it as a half day for this experiment and then we could go in to daylight savings days too

The point was it's not just say 60000 ÷ 12 months
When u are say paid monthly say on the 16th of every month So you work 16th to 16th ..if its not Sept,April,June or November there's 2 days extra til end of the month (4x8 =28) then instead of the 14th you have to wait 2 more days ..4 days extra......so out of 7 months of the year you lose 4 days a month ...4 months you lose 3 days..Febuary is the only month it works out coz it has exactly 28 days..4 weeks Add up 4 days(29th,30th,31st,15th) for 7 months an 3 days (29th,30th,15th)4 months ...an when you pay your bills weekly like rent .. your paying 5 weeks rent out of your months pay.. Whoever invented these sayings like 52 weeks are in a year an only 4 weeks in a month are gronks coz if it's not Febuary it's not true.. 7 x 4 is always gonna be 28

You are employed on a annual amount. Let's say 100k per year. Makes no difference how its payed.

I wondered why we didn't have 13 months of 28 days.

Where do you think the term month comes from?
Moonth = the time it takes for 1 cycle of the moon. Would have made more sense. If this was the case then the seasons would have drifted to occur in a different time of the year. (rate of rotation relationship between Earth's rotation around the sun, and the moons rotation around the earth doesn't quite align) similar to the leap year fudge. |

Here’s the solution to Votex’s problem:
Assume his salary is $78000 per annum. Divide it by 52 = $1500. Set up a second bank account. Set up an automatic transfer from his main account (where his pay is deposited) to the second account of $1500 per week. Withdraw his weekly expenses from the second account and don’t touch the main account. 52 weeks pay of $1500 per week. If he plans his budget around that he won’t have to worry about those extra days in the month. Maybe also save $2.50 a week to cover that extra day in February every 4 years.

On a monthly salary, you actually get paid circa 4.3 weeks every month (52 weeks decided by 12 monthly payments) you are ahead in February getting 4.3 weeks pay for 4 weeks work. Rent is also calculated in the same manner so you would never be in a position of paying 5 weeks rent on a 4 week pay. You're not being screwed by the man.. |

Time and space are 2 sides of the same coin, like magnetism and electricity. My understanding is that time is not a constant entity and depends on how fast an object is travelling. The faster a body goes, the slower time passes. As our solar system is spiraling through space at a great but unchanging rate of knots we are familiar with our current steady time spectrum. I am hazarding a guess that your example would happen on an almost or completely still environment.
