Default What does Base on dash screen mean?

Hello All, Just put cruise control, a standard AU Ford set up, in my AU II Tradesman. After I reconnected the battery, and started her up, the word Base appeared on the little screen on the dash, where the odometer numbers are. The word vanished after a few seconds, and it ran ok, and the cruise control works fine also. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what it means?

Cheers.

Yes, it means it's a base cluster. The Police ones come up with a P, and the T series ones with a T. XRs come up with "Mid", IIRC.

I have a AU2 forte (2000).
I flattened the battery, recharged and reconnected. LCD screen said base, however I feel the idle is set too low now and car stalls at intersection, it was working perfectly before I flattened battery by leaving lights on.
Has the computer been reset to basic programming?

Yes, it has. You need to get it to learn - either by driving it for around 200km or so, or you can do the learn method:

- Drive the car on the road, for at least 5 minutes under variable throttle positions.

Thank you for the info, It took almost 2-3 weeks for car to relearn itself and drive 'perfect' again. I kept forgetting to do the idle sequence but took roughly 200-300 kms. At start I was fretting at driving but now not concerned anymore as feel its safe to drive again.

My AUII 200 Ute has just done the BASE thing too.
I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes (not to do any wiring etc) and reconnected it.
Warning lamps all on and even the needle is showing a full tank of fuel (which it has) and the fuel light is on.
The digi dash bit shows "bASE" and that is it...no start...nothing.
Fuel pump starts etc though.

I understand the learning sequence for the computer etc but it would help if the bugger would start to begin with.

Which fuel light is on ... the normal fuel low lamp ... of the fuel lamp with the X through it.
If that's the case ... the fuel cut-out may have been triggered and you need to reset it.

Also a note....
I was just checking all of my earths and power and when I was looking at the starter motor + I noticed a small circular female 2 pin round plug which is not connected to anything nor could I find a male to go to it.
What is this plug for and should it be connected?

I'm just curious to know if anyones seen the symbol t come up? I've done a v8 conversion in my series 2 ute to the v8 asf it comes up with like a lower case t before I turn the key on after I've connected the battery. Then the red hand flashes and wont start.
