Hi all, apologies if this has been covered before but I have found threads for the LV Focus on the same subject but not the LW2.
I want to pick up power for a dashcam. I was going to tap into the 12v source in the front console (easy to get to). I have two questions: Does anyone know the what colour wire is power to the 12v source? Is there another 12v source that can easily be picked up that is switched to accessory? |

one suggestion some dash cams turn off automatically if power is cut otherwise they stay on all the time so check you use a power source that is only on when the car is on.

I'm using a fuse tap (with 3.1A USB ports) on fuse 85 in the passenger footwell.
Only supplies power when the key is turned. No power when key is out. Fuse 85 is described as Quote:
This is the fuse tap with USB ports that I bought. http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/chS1h7TS

Hi all, I did a bit more digging around. LW2 is the Australian designation for the Focus, a lot of English websites just nominate the Focus as an MK3.
So I found a British Ford Focus forum that gave me a how-to. https://www.fordownersclub.com/tutor...all-focus-mk3/ Note that it utilises the same method as described by stefcio007 (thanks) but with a little more detail. The parts that Stefcio007 described in his post can be substituted for the following: https://www.jaycar.com.au/double-min...e-tap/p/SF5125 https://www.jaycar.com.au/standard-d...older/p/SZ2040 https://www.jaycar.com.au/under-dash...ocket/p/PS2016 OR https://www.jaycar.com.au/twin-usb-p...-3-1a/p/MP3616 OR https://www.jaycar.com.au/twin-usb-p...-3-1a/p/MP3618 |
