I'm reading our Endura promises 6.7L/100 is that right?

Base model X5 with its 2L (170kw twin turbo) diesel suggests 5.5L/100 which admittedly seems pretty ambitious

Maybe they read the forums

I was one of many that said loud and clearly they should show some respect and put the Territory name to bed along with Falcon. If it's replacement was not to be made here (as a Falcon derivative) then it IS NOT a Territory.

One of the few occasions they may have listened to a previous buyer.

But the Edge is not a Territory the same way a Mondeo or Taurus is not a Falcon.

The Territory name plate should also be retired IMHO to allow it to be remembered as Australia's only home grown crossover (SUV), and a great one at that.

I did,

"Mr Henker said the Panther engine family, from which the Endura’s unit is derived, can be customised at factory, with this process resulting in the Australian-market solution."

My take on this is they could easily get the engine in different Guise's.
just like the UK have 3 variations, their ST gets the bi turbo..

we get one variant.

ST-Line, the ST is North America only with the 2.7 Ecoboost.

Just like cheating on diesel emissions, there's been a lot of fudging gong on with getting best possible FE figures.
Not saying that this is the case with the X5 but if you think about it, 5.5 l/100 km combined is a bit out there for an X5.

Every variant of Endura costs money to develop, I see this as a low cost toe in the water to gauge interest.
I bet this engine was offered to FoA because it was an easy almost off the shelf completed tune.

Yep I agree, sounds like a way to get cost out of the vehicle to me.

It's interesting that in the new UK versions are150 PS (111 Kw) and 238 PS (177 Kw)
are more extreme than the previous 180 PS (134 Kw) and 210 PS (157 Kw)

P.S. And before anyone chimes in saying wait a sec the Endura isn't out yet so don't bag it's performance...my comeback is I've watched every Youtube review of the US Edge ST V6 petrol, I know what the performance on the Territory is now, I have read up on some opposition vehicles and the Endura in tdi 140kW/440Nm spec is a let down when you factor in Ford Oz is going to charge a premium.
Dr Smith if you are looking at other brands, I'd suggest the Jag F-Pace is spiritual successor to the Territory. I know price points are different. It has the SUV, the 7 seats iirc, the great handling, full time AWD, and option of a performance petrol motor.

Just read the Endura review, and no 7 seats, fwd model featuring torque steer on test, 700kg less tow capacity, and 2.2m width with mirrors serves to show just what a hard act the Territory is to follow.

There are quite a few euro brands at the top end of Endura pricing.
