Hi folks,
I'm unaware of this so I'm not sure if it's right or not. There is an advert claiming they have a very rare 2003 Fpv BA Fairmont Ghia GT, only 1 of 130 ever made. First of the FPV range as concept car, with Fg front, later named as FG after the Fairmont. Doesn't sound right to me. Cheers Grahame. |

I'm not drinking the Kool Aid.... Looks too much like a regular BA Ghia with a body kit slapped on it...

Didn't realise it was April fools already!
No such thing as a BA FPV Fairmont Ghia GT. Seriously people trying to sell their car as some kind of special edition when it's not, like the "BA/F FPV XR8" is bad, but this... 1 of 130 too few IQ points! If you're really not sure, a call to Ford HQ should set you straight.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the 1 of 130 is right, probably wasn’t that many v8 Fairmonts made in that colour.

You can actually buy an FG FPV style Bumper for the BA/BF made of fibreglass. Looks cheap and nasty, nothing Ford would release. Case solved.

As you describe, clearly an aftermarket bumper for BA with 'FG FPV' look.
In addition add an XR8 bonnet, and BA XR headlights (Perhaps aftermarket projector ones?) to the mix, and you have this front end. So did the seller actually spin up a fake story about being a rare original vehicle? Cheers, |

Ha ha ha!
Just the sort of reaction I was expecting well done. These sort of people that put up adverts like that amaze me. They bank on the gullible. So I'm glad to see Fordman1 reported the add. When I saw that add I thought that can't be right I've never heard of that before I could be wrong but as I said I wasn't aware of any produced as such. Hence the thread to confirm. Off topic I know so don't burn me, but did Craig (Feared) sell his BF GT? I hope you all have a Great New Year. Cheers. Grahame. |

I have a Fairmont Ghia "GT" story. Around 5 years ago I was driving past a car yard and spotted a black AU for sale. The big chrome grill caught my eye. Turned around and went in for a look. The dealer said it's an AU Fairmont Ghia "Limited Edition". Price was reasonable for a AU Fairmont he said. And it was reasonable, for a mint Fairmont Ghia. Thing is, the car was in fact a series I AU TS50! The TS50 badge was missing on the boot lid. That was it's only flaw! It was in very good condition otherwise. For the asking price, I was almost salivating. Went home, spoke to the Mrs, it took a bit of convincing but I got the go ahead - and next day went back with a cash deposit. It had SOLD! :(
Some lucky bastard got a mint 140K..ish Km's, Silhouette T1 TS50, alloy headed 220kW V8, Aubergine interior in almost mint condition for a steal!! Was advertised for $4'399. Asked dealer what he sold it for? Said they agreed on $3'500! I cried on the way home. |
