They'l make a movie about him one day, should call it Aussie Grit.
All the competitors in Dakar are absolute legends, but to do it with a broken wrist from start to finish.... Hard to comprehend how it was possible even to compete at all, let alone win.
Try and find any coverage on TV though, aside from the 1/2 hour SBS there is nothing, I haven't even seen a mention of it on any sports coverage - shame on you TV moguls, you wouldn't know a hero from a dish rag.

Hope his girlfriend? gets to trim his locks though.

Cheers,

I did enduro riding for over 20 years and was known for my speed but Toby is an absolute freak of nature.

Check out this earlier 60 minutes take on him.

Unbelievable tough as nails Aussie legend, Dakar on a bike with a broken wrist and the win, who would even attempt such a thing.

Toby is a true Aussie hero. Totally ignored by the Aussie media. Media only interested in cricket, (yawnfest.) and Tennis. Tomic and Kyrios are a disgrace. Toby needs better press coverage. DAKAR 2020 looks like going back to Africa. As Argentina, Bolivia and Chile wont allow it through their countries. That's shooting yourself in the foot. Publicity and what the teams spend in those countries is huge, "Dakar Rally director Etienne Lavigne has revealed his team has started exploring the possibility of moving the legendary rally raid back to the African continent for 2020. https://www.motorsport.com/dakar/new...39234/3099007/

How good is this bloke, he did it harder than his rivals in his first win when he completed a stage that was deemed too hot for the riders and the stage was cancelled. Tough as nails.
