Default Help needed regarding Mondeo

Hello Ford Forum Members,
I am wondering if anyone is going to help me with my problem. I am planning to buy a Mondeo as a project. It will be my first project car, and I don’t know what engines will fit without any major changes. Such as if any engines would fit?

thanks in advance to anyone that can help and I look forward to reading your advice.

Thanks

My pipe dream is an MC wagon with XR5 Turbo running gear. Might be hard to find a salvage XR5 with sound mechanicals, but assuming you do, you can be confident all the bits will fit swapping Mondeo to Mondeo.

Although I'm not sure it would be better (as far as I use it) than the TDCi Duratorq - the economy I get with the diesel, and the way that it doesn't even notice a load on board is pretty satisfying.

You could also look at overseas variants for ideas... for example the MC had an option for a 2.2L diesel we didn't get here, although it's not the most alluring option...

If you're getting an older model (HA/HB/HC), those used to come with a tuned V6 in the sporty ST variants...
