Default OBD scanner

Good Day Everyone
I'm currently on the hunt for a scanning tool that can deal with Fords weird protocol which the Ford Falcon Au1 has.
I've heard really upmarket scanners work but I don't have a couple of grand on me at the moment unfortunately haha.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I use the cable and Forscan on my Series III. I'll try it tomorrow on BMC's Series 1.

I'm back after about a week and I'm happy to say the Link Uncle_Ken gave me was a great help it led me to buy a: Forscan USB ELM327 With Switch OBD2 Ford Mazda Bus Scanner Modified.

It works great with pulling codes and can do some basic testing on my AU1 not to glamorous but it helped me find out what I needed and hay it was pretty good priced for around $30
Also worked great on my mothers AU2,I did a full system scan and run.
I hope this helps anyone that has a Ford Falcon AU1,I've seen the question pop up here and there but never a proper answer.
Cheers
