he explained to me something about the e series brake mountings being different to almost any other type of mounting, the mounts are cast onto the upright rather than a propper btracket. it would weaken them by too much to be legal if they modify them...
he said they have tried all types of different combo's, and half have broekn with the rest showing signs of flex.....

Yeah it came down to the giving a waranty without Xraying the machined parts.

They take the Boss's off in a CNC Mill.
And i am pretty sure they X-Ray them bafor and after.
My brakes are proof they work, so are all the EA/B Saloon cars getting round out there.

Damn, but just say if you did change over to the au setup would the el rims still fit or would you have to fit au rims.
Could you use the calipers and rotors of a vx

and by the time you've done that, and get it sorted with some performance pads and slotted rotors, you might as well have gone and bought the cebco kit lol

i know what id rather have stopping me....

You wouldnt get the AU setup to fit the EL without major structural changes to the car.

And the costs involved with that would far exceed that of the basic Cebco package.

The VX calipers are similar but the rotor setup wont go on.

Exactly. Upgrading your brakes is not worth it unless you are racing or you need more bite because of the HP you're getting. All you need is a set of slotted rotors (which i can get dirt cheap :voldar02: ) and some harder compound pads (EBC greens work a treat). Brake fluid maintanance is also a must.

if people are saying ferodos are dust central, what about the bendix ultimates? i have them on my car with slotted discs, and theyre bloody terrible for dust. great for stopping though. whats a decent, low dust pad that takes a caining? ebc worth a shot?

Brake fluid. When should you change it does old brake fluide reduce braking preformance?

Brake fluid is hydroscopic, which means it absorbs water – even through the rubber hoses – and it is the water in the fluid which can boil and cause problems with braking. If you’re looking at the boundaries of performance then change the fluid more often. Every two years is “standard”, so every year or even less, depends on what you’re doing and how often.

There are different grades of brake fluid too, DOT3, 4 & 5. The higher you go the higher the boiling point but they also become more hydroscopic as well so need changing more often.

If you like Ultimates : then you'll love EBC's. Had them in my car for years, great bite, minimal dust. But you pay for qaulity

Well said mate. You should change/check brake fluid every time you change pads or 6-12 months, depending on pedal feel. Thats just what i do
