Default Alignment - Melbourne, Northern Suburbs - Recommendations?

Would be grateful for recommendations on competent and fairly-priced wheel balance and alignment in northern suburbs of Melbourne, especially around Epping.

From a couple of, let's say, disappointing experiences in the past, it seems to me that the job is more challenging than it looks.

Any suggestions? If not in north, then anywhere in Melbourne.

I had 4 wheel alignments from 4 different places before it was done right.....

I have a lowered EF on 19"s with K-Mac camber kit....

But where I got it done was a Knox Tyrepower in Scoresby, awesome work, tyres aren't rubbing out and have even wear.

I hear ya though it's hard to get a place that does a wheel alignment they it should be done

Bob Jane's (i won't say where) charge you through the nose for an alignment but there was no difference at all between the before and the after 'alignment' they did. Useless.

I'd gladly recommend Reservoir Tyre Power in Edwardes Street Reservoir.

My car's there right now getting one done.

You mean Centreline Suspension in Thomastown.

http://www.centrelinesuspension.com.au/

They are old school and very good. More expensive then other alignments I've had in the past, but they do spend longer and actually test the car between alignments to make sure everything stays where they set it.

I have rooted front bushes in my car, which they picked up, and the car still felt better after the alignment they did than any other aligner previously.

Going back there tomorrow morning to get mine reset as the new bushes are going in tonight.

Yes, toe alignments are done with string and dial indicators... And the camber and castor is checked with mirrors and angle metres.

Not a computer to be seen.

I can recommend Computerline too...
Their alignment machine is like a reverse dyno..
runs the wheels so it shows what they are doing on the road...
Got my car done there a while back and was very happy..
Also, when I was working in Kingsbury we used to take all the cars there..

Plus 1 for Computerline, I had a HZ 1 Tonna and after many tries by local tyre joints and trashed tyres these guys fixed it 100%. It was a long drive from the South East for me but worth it.
Cheers, Dave

Just want to report that Computerline at 44 High St Preston did a great job.

But here is, I think, an even better story about them. I sent my aunt along, after she said she thought her little WS Fiesta had an alignment problem. She booked in for wheel rotation, balance and 4-wheel alignment.

Anyway, when she came to pay, they told her the price would be just over $70, less than half the quote. The reason was that the back wheels cannot be adjusted (I didn't know that). She was thrilled. How many other shops, she wondered, would be so honest and professional? Very good recommendation, IMHO.

Jax tyres near Bunnings in Epping have looked after my '67 Xr, 2 XR6's and now my Prado, very good service. Ask for Brenden.

Is Knox Tyrepower in Scoresby still a good place to do wheel alignment?

Computer Line in High Street Preston were fantastic. I have been going there for years. Sadly, they have closed, or moved.

If anyone knows where they are now, please inform.

The phone number just gives the busy signal. No information on the building either.

Can anyone provide an update on this subject? The existing thread is a bit long in the tooth.

As before, any recent recommendations on a fair-priced, skilled alignment in Melbourne, especially the northern suburbs??
