Thats the sort of shape but the inside diameter needs to be much smaller, more like 7-8mm and about 15mm outside

The generic name is "cotton reel bush" if they are fully round, else it's a "D bush". You need to be fairly accurate with the ID, OD, length.
Also, clean, fresh, true rubber can be cut and joined with good quality cyanoacrylate ("superglue"). No such possibility with cold cast polyurethane (eg SuperPro, Nolathane) bushes. Further to that, if you're really stuck, a low volume/prototyping option is Flexane 80. Last edited by Citroënbender; 04-05-2019 at 07:50 PM. |

There are going to be a lot of people looking for something as even the same rubbers on my TL50 with only 114K and no leaks are starting to fall apart

Another member in the other thread has come up with a solution using 120Y spring shackle bushes. I need to clarify how he is fitting them as he has done this repair a few times using these

Use a piece of rubber hose. Slit it longitudinal and slip it in. Coolant or oil hose will suit. Hydraulic will be thicker.

As you mentioned earlier, those bushes have been around since the E series - probably EA's and EB's.
With EF's/EL's, that rod is directly welded to the plate, and the rod becomes an upper mount for a std diamond shaped rubber hanger which attaches to a bracket which mounts to the engine pipe rear. Bit of a pointless attachment with extractors, as that rear engine pipe isn't moving a mm, in relation to the eng/trans. If you can't find a bush substitute, you could do same - as it stands, you could weld (in situ) the rod directly to those brackets, and tack those brackets too. Obviously those bushes are a NVH thing, but I would think the rear trans mount would do most of that. |

You can make your own bushes using polyurethane sealant.
