Waste of time...Won't give much better power at all...Its the size of your cat that restricts it, EB's cat would be what...2 1/4inch? Where as most sports exhaust systems are 2 1/2inch, so if you wan't a power increase get a bigger/high flow cat.

if your cat had collapsed like the one in my EA then you will gain heaps of power by hollowing it out...

other than that I don't think much if any performance gains will be noticed, more than anything it will increase your emissions and make your car louder... but remember, its illegal.

Its a $15,000 fine if you are caught.
I in the past have tried with the pipe straight through the cat and gained nothing, and you never will.
The cat is not a restriction if you buy a decent one. Even the factory ones are pretty good.
If you want to try a test, fit a 1/4" BSP fitting before and after the cat, and read the pressure differential.....Sweet FA

I found recently that I got gains (seemed like a new car powerwise) by hollowing my cat, but I did so because it had already collapsed. Was only done for testing purposes after finding a ~8cmx5cm chunk of catylist stuck and blocking the inlet side of my centre muffler LOL.

I replaced mine with flanged pipes where i could just unbolt the cats n replace em with straight thru pipe.
On the dyno i only gained 4kw.
dont bother not worth it.

especially not with the big fines...

if u want the wreckers will sell you the exhaust piece for $10 with the cat hollow, they gut them and sell the insides (it contains minute amounts of platnium) go for a drive with and without and see the difference for yourself.

Sweet FA.

Unless there has been an amendment to the site Terms and Conditions since I last checked, illegal modifications or activities are not condoned by this site in any form, even if there is some amusement value in seeing such cheapskate excuses for 'upgrades'. Please think before posting next time.
