Default digital dash success

hey guys just reporting about my fairlane instrument cluster conversion. no probs at all, only confusing part is wiring up the door ajar sensors or how ever they work, any tips on doing this part, thanks.

GTHO FAN, I'd connect the door ajar wires to the interior light switch thingy's on the door jams.

good work mate... I once put a xf digital cluster into my old s pack. Looked pretty sweet.

As far as the door sensor goes, I'm just having a guess here but one would asume there would be 4 wires (one for each door) that would go to ground when opened. This would then trigger the light on the dash. It could also be controlled through the BEM, so you might even need to get that if you want it to work. That way you would also get the extra's - fading dome lights, adjustable dim/brightness of the lights for the cluster etc...

I am only guessing though - I'm sure someone would know, or even have a wiring diagram you can look at.

omg i didnt think of that :( but will the cluster know which door triggered the interior light, or would it just assume all doors are opened. at the moment its like a nightclub on the dash all the doors and fuel cap are opening and closing, looks funny

no, it wont know which door is opened...
the door adjar bit is a nightmare of wiring.
each door has a microsensor in the latch ( go have a look in a fairlane)with wiring going to the cluster........

ill head down to pick a part again tomorrow, and check it out wayne, and also ill have to get the oil pressure switch, because like the guide on fordmods says, it will glow dimly without it, and yep it sure does

Yeah i was stoaked with my Digital tacho when I first fitted it, but then the call of the Spack cluster was too strong and i went back to the dark side hehe

Dont want a NC2 Fairlane cluster with smartlock LED do you? im throwing it out
